Old And Infirm Come Out To Vote In Daman

Locals of all ages, the old and the infirm, came out in large numbers on 7 May 2024 to vote in the Daman and Diu Lok Sabha constituency in the third phase of General Elections 2024. It is one of the two Lok Sabha constituencies in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in western India.

This Daman and Diu Lok Sabha constituency is a political powerhouse with a significant influence in national politics and it also reflects a diverse demographic. The polling commenced at seven am in the morning and voters could be seen in queues at polling stations, making the voter turnout tos 68.77 per cent.
In Phase Three of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, voters from across 11 States/UTs for 93 Parliamentary Constituencies participated enthusiastically to cast their vote at their polling stations, braving hot weather conditions in many areas.
Around 18.5 lakh Polling officials were deployed to welcome over 17 crore voters across 1.85 lakh polling stations in these constituencies.
