Veteran Indian actor Rekha was among the special invitees to the show. Before the show, Dior's Maria Grazia Chiuri expressed her excitement and gratitude at meeting Rekha, she called, 'India's most iconic woman and incredible actress.'
The show was an amalgamation of beauty, craftsmanship and glamour. The 'runway' reflected traditional Indian designs even as the air was filled with the sound of live fusion music. The models donned outfits seeped in traditional Indian silhouettes including sari-inspired skirts, silk dresses and coats.
This was the first instance when a European luxury brand has hosted a standalone show in India. Dior's ready-to-wear accessory launch was in collaboration with Mumbai-based Chanakya School of Craft.

The Taj Mahal Hotel, adjoining Gateway of India, had hosted the guests for a welcome dinner by Dior attended by Anoushka Shankar, Poorna Jagannathan, Simone Ashley, Game Of Thrones' Maisie Williams and Thai actors Mile (Phakphum Romsaithong) and Apo (Nattawin Wattanagitiphat) of KinnPorsche fame.
