The Mahakumbh Mela, which commenced 26 days ago, has already witnessed over 42 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers. With the numbers expected to rise further, authorities are implementing stric⁶t measures to regulate movement and prevent overcrowding at key transit points.
In a bid to streamline pilgrim movement, Prayagraj Junction has extended its 'one-way plan' until further notice. Under this system, entry will only be permitted from the city side at Platform No. 1, while exit will be through the Civil Lines side at Platforms No. 6 and 10.
Additionally, to avoid congestion, pilgrims can access platforms only through colour-coded tickets and designated shelter areas, which have been set up with temporary ticket counters, restrooms, and resting facilities.
