Media Internships

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by the crisis in the print media industry, the role of news portals has become more defined. This is an exciting time to intern for international news portal The Draft and grab the opportunity to bring news, views and reviews to our readers.

The Draft's internship programmes, Across India and Beyond Borders, are chargeable for both Indian and International participants. However, for certain live projects and campaigns, The Draft throws open limited, free, unpaid internship opportunities where participants are hand-picked based on their proven capabilities and published works.

An intern at The Draft gets the opportunity to play different roles - that of a reporter, photographer, videographer, designer, etc., to be able to understand and hone all steps of news generation and publication.

Interns at The Draft also get a unique opportunity to travel with the team to live project locations and assist in media campaigns, Across India and Beyond Borders. Do note, this is not a work from home/distance/virtual internship programme.

Eligibility
> Applicant must have relevant professional work experience of at least a year. This is not applicable for those applying for the six-month internship programme
> Applicant will be required to produce samples of published works. This does not include personal blogs/journals or college/academic assignments
> In the absence of work experience, to qualify for the internship, the applicant could undertake a niche workshop certification* or a bridge course* (both chargeable)
> Applicant must be willing to travel with the team when required*

Workshop Certification
> The workshop certifications offered by The Draft are industry certifications and not academic courses which means they are considered on par with experience across the relevant industry
> These may be conducted in one or multiple project locations across India, such as Mumbai, Goa, Daman, Ahmedabad or Kolkata
> The Draft will provide basic, shared accommodation (complimentary) for the duration of the workshop in these locations.
> Those applying for the six-month internship programme may also sign up for the workshop certification, if they choose to supplement their internship programme
